What debits does the RCTS IP service provide?
Between 100Mbps and 10Gbps. These speeds are synchronous, i.e. the transmission capacity is equal to the data receiving capacity.
Can I receive the RCTS IP service in two geographically distinct locations?
These situations always require an analysis of the requirements and are analysed individually.
I already have a connection to a commercial ISP. Can I continue to use the same addresses by subscribing to the RCTS IP service?
No. The RCTS IP service only provides service to IP addresses that are owned by the RCTS or the organizations themselves. In the event of a disconnection from a commercial ISP, and the address is not owned by the organization, that address will have to be "returned" to the commercial ISP.
What is "academic traffic" and "business traffic" in the context of the RCTS IP service?
Business traffic' is communications originating from networks that are neither research and education networks nor owned by entities that have a direct traffic exchange link with RCTS or the GÉANT network. Academic traffic' is all other traffic originating from all other origins.
Does the RCTS IP service include the management of my firewall?
No, no filtering is performed on service delivery.
What are the costs of the service?
The costs are calculated according to the nature of the proposing organisation, its geographical location and the tariff in force.
Is there any loyalty period associated?
Yes, the minimum period of stay is 12 months. After this period, the request to terminate the contract must be made within 30 days' notice.
Is the service monitored 7x24x365?
Yes, in addition to monitoring, a supervision service (human support) is provided during the same period.

What is the average activation time for the RCTS IP service?
60 days. This timeframe may vary depending on geographic location and existing telecommunications infrastructure.

Can I receive the RCTS Plus service at two geographically distinct locations?
Yes, the minimum is two sites. Multiple sites located at different locations can be connected in this Service.
