Mobility without borders
eduroam (Education Roaming) is a mobility service developed for the international education and research community.
This service guarantees secure Internet access to students, teachers, researchers and institutional employees, through the wireless network of their institution or any member institution they are visiting.
This means that whether at their home institution or visiting other institutions, users have secure access with their usual login.
Eduroam is uninterrupted and secure Wi-Fi access worldwide.
Who is it intended for?
Especially to teachers, researchers and students.
About eduroam
The adhering entities offer their users the possibility to access eduroam through their institutional account. This means, for example, that a professor from a Portuguese university can use his login and password to access the wi-fi network of another university, whether Portuguese or foreign, as long as both institutions belong to eduroam.
The service is based on the most secure authentication and encryption standards currently in existence. It is a secure technology that guarantees user privacy, since authentication in eduroam is always performed in the user's home institution.
More than 26,000 eduroam hotspots are available in universities and research centres in more than 100 countries worldwide. In Portugal, access to eduroam is largely ensured by higher education and research entities.
Consult the eduroam map (national and global) available at www.eduroam.pt to identify where you can connect .
Terms of Use
Please refer to the rules of use of the service.
