Until February 8, you can submit an application to use the advanced computing capacity of the Deucalion supercomputer.
Applications are now open for the 4th Computing Projects Calls Advanced, type A3, for the Deucalion supercomputer. Until February 8, 2024, it will be possible to submit applications for this type of access, which is recommended for scientific or innovation projects whose team has consolidated previous experience and which require a greater amount of resources.
This competition represents a unique opportunity for researchers, scientists and institutions from all over the country to submit proposals aimed at using the advanced computing capacity of the Deucalion supercomputer. With exceptional processing power, Deucalion becomes a valuable tool for projects that require significant computing power, such as complex simulations, analysis of large data sets and advanced research in various areas of knowledge.
Applications are open to all areas of knowledge, from biology and medicine to physics, engineering and social sciences. The projects will be evaluated based on criteria such as the originality of the proposal, relevance to the scientific community and efficient use of the supercomputer's resources.
To take part, interested parties must submit their proposals via the FCT's online platform, ensuring that they meet all the requirements set out in the regulations. The projects will be selected by panels of national and international experts with proven experience in the scientific areas of the projects submitted.
The selected projects are expected to be announced in May 2024.
For anyone interested, there will be an online information session on January 31 at 12 noon about this contest, focusing on access to Deucalion. Registration to attend is mandatory and available online.
So far, 31 projects have been approved, in a first batch of applications, in the A0 (Experimental Access) and A1 (Access for development) typologies. Applications for these typologies remain open until May 30, 2024.
