A further upgrade of RCTS access to the GÉANT network was carried out, with the connection now guaranteed at 40 Gigabits per second (Gbps).
With this capacity increase, which took place during the month of January, the connection increases from 30 to 40 Gbps, both in the main connection and in the backup connection. The upgrade ensures the quality of the service provided, taking into account the growth of data network usage.
This upgrade coincided with the activation of a new international router, which already provides multiple ports at 100 Gbps in order to support the growth of RCTS international connections.
RCTS - Science, Technology and Society Network - is the national research and education network, also internationally known as NREN (National Research and Education Network).
