FCCN, the digital services unit of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), launches a Online course dedicated to Digital Services for Higher Education and Research. – and it's already available on the NAU platform.
With an estimated duration of six hours, the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) was designed to support higher education students, researchers and anyone interested in understanding, using and making the most of the main digital services of the FCT, developed by FCCN, which are part of the national academic and scientific ecosystem.
A learning process guided by stories and practical modules.
The course is based on a narrative that follows three profiles from the academic world: a newly enrolled higher education student, a final-year undergraduate student, and a doctoral candidate. Using this approach, five services are presented, explaining their purpose and how they can be used practically and accessibly to enhance learning, research, and scientific collaboration.
The course is self-paced and promotes flexible learning. It is organized into short, dynamic modules, consisting of explanatory videos, supplementary resources, and interactive quizzes.
The course plan includes a module dedicated to each of the following digital services:
- ScienceVitae – a scientific curriculum management platform that simplifies processes and helps reduce the administrative burden in research activities.
- RCAAP – an open access service that allows searching, consulting, and depositing scientific publications produced in national institutions.
- b-on – an online knowledge library that provides access to a vast collection of scientific and academic content from international publishers.
- Educast – a platform for creating, managing, and sharing educational and multimedia content.
- FileSender – A secure solution for transferring large files.
With no prerequisites and accessible to anyone, the training is particularly relevant for higher education students and researchers from all scientific fields.
It is available in Portuguese, in the format online and open and continuous regime, with registration and attendance being possible at any time through the NAU platform.
