European project aims to reduce barriers to entry into higher education, boosting the acquisition of new digital skills in schools.
The work of the Up2U project in Portugal continues, involving the 10 member schools. After, at the beginning of the year, the general presentation session of the project was held at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto, three new meetings took place between May and June.
The sessions focused on the management and planning of activities, as well as the production of content, namely editing videos in an educational context with the respective integration in the Up2U ecosystem. In total, 130 students and 30 teachers are involved.
Up2U is "an international pilot project with several secondary schools" that offers immediate access to various educational tools, in order to "enhance new methodologies and pedagogical practices in secondary education". Platforms for collaborative editing, social interaction or analysis and teaching management are just a few examples.
In addition to Portugal, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Poland, Spain, Germany, Hungary and Lithuania are taking part in the project. The FCCN unit and the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP) are leading the Portuguese participation and the implementation of the national pilot in conjunction with Portuguese secondary schools.
