Participating makes a difference!
GILM - Informal Group on Media Literacy is organizing the 9th edition of the 7 days with media initiative, to take place between 3 and 9 May 2021, and invites everyone to participate. Schools, associations, libraries, clubs, social media, digital platforms, universities, families... are challenged to create an initiative (workshop, webinar, video, podcast, or other activity) that focuses on the media, its uses, critical analysis and production.
In a year in which we had to retire to our homes, screens have become even more present in our lives, at the level of work, study, entertainment and relationship and communication with others. It is therefore important to take the time, however briefly, to reflect on the importance they assume in our daily lives, how they help form our opinions, how they contribute to building our perception of the world, on what they show us and what they do not show us. This will certainly be a way of developing a more critical look and attitude about the way we use the media and how, through them, we communicate and express ourselves.
The media in times of pandemic, infodemic and misinformation, social and digital inequalities that have become more visible in these times, are some of the topics that we convoke for this edition of the initiative, without closing the door to other topics.
As in previous years, the Safe Internet Centre - Awareness Centre is associating itself with this initiative. Join the media week by registering your initiative. Participating makes a difference!
