Another year, another Arquivo.pt award! In 2021, the award will once again distinguish innovative research work on the information preserved by Arquivo.pt, with a total of 15,000€ in prizes. Applications are open until May 4.
In 2021 the FCCN unit of the Foundation for Science and Technology will once again honor innovative works that use the information preserved by the Arquivo.pt service. This will be the 4th edition of the Arquivo.pt Prize and applications are now open.
The annual Arquivo.pt Award aims to promote practical applications or complete research studies based on the information accessible through Arquivo.pt, which demonstrate the usefulness of this public service and the importance of preserving the information published on the web.
Therefore, the works may focus on themes from any area (e.g. Education, History, Sociology, Communication, Health, Information Technology), provided that Arquivo.pt is used as the main source of information. Applications are open until May 4.
To apply, interested parties must submit a text and a short video describing the work carried out. Three works will be awarded prizes: 1st place (€10,000), 2nd place (€3,000) and 3rd place (€2,000).
The Arquivo.pt Prize is held annually, since 2018, and has the High Sponsorship of the Presidency of the Republic, repeating this year the Público newspaper as official communication partner and that will additionally award an Honourable Mention to one of the submitted works that has focused on the web archive related to Público online.
