So far, more than 200 participants have registered and plan to take advantage of the sessions, workshops and networking opportunities at the annual meeting point for the various communities of managers and users of the advanced communication, computing and data platforms and other digital services provided by the Foundation for Science and Technology's FCCN unit.
The topic we have all been following with concern in recent weeks - and will continue to follow for the foreseeable future - is the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the health and well-being of everyone involved in the Scientific Computing Days 2020 is of the utmost importance to the organisation of the event, the evolution of the situation was closely monitored and the official guidelines of the competent authorities were regularly consulted: The Directorate General of Health, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the World Health Organization.
Considering the current situation and believing that we all have an important role to play in stopping the spread of this virus, the organization - Unidade FCCN and the Polytechnic of Leiria - took the decision to postpone the event.
The new scheduled dates are October 13-15, 2020.
