Sandra Pinto, head of the Setúbal Polytechnic Institute (IPS), describes the recording experience at Estúdio FCCN, detailing the context in which the recordings were made.
What is the scope of the recordings made?
Our work at Estúdio FCCN is part of the "+Negócios -Desperdício" project, an IPS/IPStartup project funded by the Environmental Fund under the "Sustainable Production and Consumption" competition. The project includes an annual competition for ideas to create value from waste from small and medium-sized companies in the Setúbal Peninsula, Alentejo Litoral and Vendas Novas. To this end, the companies launch challenges, and teams of IPS students, teachers and researchers propose ideas to solve them and then work on these ideas, namely within the scope of their curricular units. In the end, the potential of these ideas to be implemented in companies or even transformed into new businesses is assessed.
The MOOC that we recorded at FCCN is made up of multiple modules that introduce the contest and the themes it relates to, all of which are related to the area of the Circular Economy. This course will then be available online on the ideas competition's website, among others, to support the different players, both in this pilot edition and in future editions.
Why did you choose the studio FCCN?
One of the members of our team had already made some recordings of classes at the FCCN unit and suggested that we record this MOOC there too, taking advantage of the resources made available under the Educast project, which IPS has joined. Based on this idea, we took a closer look at the videos that were available and found that they were of the quality we were looking for. They even inspired us a lot.
And how would you describe the user experience?
It was the first time that most of the team had recorded in a studio and it was a very positive experience that everyone intends to repeat in the future. We especially liked the tireless support we received from the team at FCCN and their flexibility and willingness to help us make sure we kept to the tight schedule we had for our project. Especially given the stage we were at with the pandemic. We would recommend the experience to anyone who wants to record high-quality videos to make them available online. At FCCN, you can count on a team of excellent and highly dedicated professionals who will help ensure the success of our projects.
