Until July 7, the Open Clouds for Research Environments (OCRE) has open applications for a funding program. Research projects can receive up to 500,000€ of investment in cloud infrastructures, platforms and software services.
"Get more agility and results for your research project." This is how the OCRE presents the opportunity offered by its latest funding program. According to the OCRE, there are about 6.5 million euros to distribute, with a maximum limit of 500,000 euros per project. The amount will be distributed in Cloud and Earth Observation services.
Applications have been open since April 26 and close on July 8. To take part, research projects should contact the Unit FCCN - the entity that represents OCRE in Portugal.
Based on this contact, the Unit FCCN will be able to collaborate in the creation of a proposal that should highlight the relevance of the project and the impact that digital cloud services would have on the activities and results, as well as highlighting the positive role that digital services can play in European research.
This funding line is intended to promote the adoption of cloud-based services by the European research community. As such, projects that are already using these types of solutions cannot be funded. The OCRE project will also comply with the rules present in the Grant Agreement implemented by the European Commission.
