The delivery and announcement of the winners of the Arquivo.pt Prize 2019 will be held by His Excellency the Prime Minister António Costa at "Ciência 2019 - Meeting with Science and Technology", during the plenary session to be held on 8 July from 9:00 to 11:00 in Auditorium 1.
O Arquivo.pt is a research infrastructure managed by the FCCN Unit of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), which has made it possible to search and access millions of pages collected from the web since 1996. The main objective is to preserve information published on the web and provide a public search service for memory, study and research purposes.
The Arquivo.pt Prize is sponsored by the President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and aims to annually reward innovative research based on the historical information preserved by Arquivo.pt. Like last year, the Prize will distinguish three works.
The competition will reward original and innovative works that have Arquivo.pt as their main source of information and that demonstrate the usefulness of the Arquivo.pt service and the importance of preserving and using information published on the web.
The first place winner will receive the value of EUR 10 000; the second place winner EUR 3 000; and the third place winner EUR 2 000.
The competition ended on May 3 and received proposals for works in areas such as media, education, design, IT, health or cultural and historical heritage.
