The NAU Platform, managed by the FCT's FCCN Unit, was officially launched on April 3, 2019 and since then, the project has grown steadily. Here are 4 figures that illustrate this.
#1 Users: 166,188
At the time of its creation, NAU already had 10,000 users. Since then, this number has grown by 1561%, and currently has more than 166,000 registered users and 340,000 registrations. The fact that the number of enrollments more than doubles the number of users is highlighted by NAU as demonstrating the "satisfaction of users, enrolling in more than one course."
#2 Adhering entities: 44
Since April 2021, the number of institutions connected to the NAU Platform has more than doubled. Currently, NAU has 44 member entities that promote a diversified training offer. In addition to public administration and private entities, the 13 higher education institutions that have joined this project in the meantime also stand out.
#3 Total courses: 268
Throughout its 48 months of existence, the NAU Platform has been adding more options to its training offer. To date, a total of 268 open, massive and online (MOOC) courses (including new trainings or re-editions) have already been streamlined by this platform. The topics are varied and range from health, security and technology to tourism, education, research, among others.
#4 Completion rate: 46%
According to the figures shared by the NAU Platform, approximately 1 in every 2 enrolled trainees finish their course with positive grades. This result is highlighted as being an excellent completion rate within the reality of MOOC courses, considering that one of the most pointed out problems in this kind of platforms is the difficulty in maintaining consistency and completion of the trainings.
