Among 300 applications, NAU was nominated by IDC Portugal and Axians as one of the most disruptive and innovative national projects. It is now among the best classified in this 6th edition of the Portugal Digital Awards.
After the presentation of each finalist project at the Digital Innovation Connection, the videos of the projects that passed to the last selection phase were released: Finalists - IDC Portugal.
→ The big winner is announced on the 14th at the IDC Awards Ceremony, broadcast on livestream.
The NAU platform is dedicated to online education and training aimed at large audiences. It is a service of the Scientific Computing Unit (FCCN) of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), which makes a significant contribution to promoting the Portuguese language as a vehicle for transmitting knowledge.
For João Gomes, Director of Advanced Services FCCN|FCT, "the search for the best performance on the NAU platform is constant and, as such, being among the finalist projects is a big step for the project, but also for the entities that support us".
NAU provides courses on the most diverse areas of knowledge and has had an average growth of 4000 users per month. The platform has already made more than 129,683 enrolments.
Guided by digital transformation, IDC Portugal and Axians share one of the main pillars of activity with the FCCN Unit: Innovation.
In a joint initiative, the organisations developed the Portugal Digital Awards event to recognise and reward the excellence of companies, their teams and leaders who, with vision and audacity, lead their businesses and services towards a digital transformation. This process raises the adaptability of companies and is a wake-up call for the need to modernise markets and work areas.
Currently, it is essential to have institutional communication centred on digital platforms, which symbolises the first step towards progress. Communication now has in technology its direct channel, responsible for reading and translating the voice of the customer and directing business actions.
With this premise, IDC and Axians award the prizes to the applications that obtain the highest score in the following evaluation criteria: Impact on business; Improvement of the decision-making process; Innovation and creation of new products/services and/or improvement of customer experience; Productivity improvement; Improvement and optimisation of the organisation's business processes; Creation of digital platforms for the development of partnerships; Creation of a technological infrastructure to support the digital transformation of organisations & Technological innovation.
In this edition, the Jury is composed by a panel of 23 members and observers from the most varied working areas, combining information technologies with engineering, communications and management.
The last edition of the Portugal Digital Awards saw 19 winners, divided into categories that represented all sectors of the economy in Portugal.
