From 26 to 29 April, Lisbon hosts the conference that brings together the international Open edX community to discuss the current status of this online learning platform, as well as research projects, good practices and new collaborative approaches.

2022 marks the return of the Open edX conference to a face-to-face format. After having been held virtually in 2021, the meeting of the community of users of this learning platform and experts in ed-tech will take place in Lisbon between 26 and 29 April.

The Foundation for Science and Technology and the Nova School of Business and Economics (SBE) are co-hosts of this international conference whose theme this year will be dedicated to "the future of education, work" and how this open technology can be used to "ensure lifelong skills for workers and trainees around the world", explains edX on its website.

Over the three days, workshops and lectures will be held, among other sessions. The programme includes several case studies of innovative use of technologies in Higher Education, companies and state entities. On the other hand, it will be possible to learn about the main novelties regarding the production of courses on the Open edX platform and the main methodologies used.

Founded by Harvard University and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in 2012, edX is the non-profit organisation responsible for the open-source software used in universities around the world to drive massive open online courses, with around 14 million registered students.
